Tasting notes
Colour. Dark blackberry hues and great depth; strong purples and reds.
Nose. The immediate impact of strong fresh berry fruit is interwoven with soft vanilla from the wines French oak maturation.
Palate. Made with 100% Shiraz from the Frankland; a sub region of the Great Southern, in Western Australia. There is a wonderful balance between the soft though intense dark berry fruit characters and the vanillin oak flavours obtained from 18 months maturation in French oak. The wine shows good texture and structure, with the resultant mouth feel contributing to the long after taste. Long term bottle maturation will be beneficial for this wine and is suitable to strong flavoured meals such as game and roasted meats.
Cellaring: This wine will cellar up to 25 years in this Magnum format.
