2011 Merlot

$27.00

Nose: Strong Plummy aromas are in excellent harmony with the earthy chocolate from this vintage of Merlot.

Palate: Ripe dark berries complexed by fine grained powdery tannins. A light background vanilla derived from oak, completes the complex layers of flavours.

Development: The development of these flavours over the 6 years bottle maturation given to this wine prior to release, is indicative of its strength of character.

Food: Perfectly suited to red meat dishes.

Vibrant and deep burgundy in colour. The wine shows lifted aromas of plums, spice and blackberries which are subtly balanced with vanillin from the wine’s maturation in the fine French Oak barrels. The palate displays ripe dark berries complexed by fine grained elegant tannins. An subtle yet intense wine which can be enjoyed in its youth or will benefit greatly with seven to ten years in a good cellar to allow time to develop further complexity. Excellent with red meat dishes.

A minimal addition of preservative (224) added.
